Dhaka, 23 August : Bangladesh has decided not to recognise Kosovo as an independent Balkan state, rejecting a request from the US.
Dhaka has made it clear that it would like to keep away (from the Kosovo issue), New Age newspaper said Sunday quoting Bangladesh Foreign Secretary Mirajul Quayes. US Ambassador to Bangladesh James Moriarty had requested that Dhaka take the initiative while meeting Foreign Minister Dipu Moni recently.
Quayes said Bangladesh wants to maintain good relations with both the US and Russia and does not want to see one play against another.

Again Two killed by Maoists in West Midnapore districtsKolkata, 23 August : Maoists have shot dead two people in West Bengal’s West Midnapore allegedly because they were working against the rebels, police said Sunday.The killings took place in the Belpahari forest region late Saturday night, an official said.
“Two people, Karan Murmu and Lal Murmu, were killed by suspected Maoists at Shankhabhanga area of Belpahari forest region late last (Saturday) night,” West Midnapore Police Superintendent M.K Verma told.
