Clouded leopard sighted in Bangladesh
Web News, 18 August : Bangladeshi conservationists had notified in July about the discovery of the clouded leopard, belonging to an endangered species, by villagers in the southeast of the country. Clouded leopard is one among the Asia's specialties. Where poachers turn saviours, the clouded leopard is one. It is a medium-sized wild cat found in the forests of Asia. It is very secretive by nature. Because of its timid nature, nothing much is known about its wild behaviour. Added to this, it leads a nocturnal life. The limited knowledge we have about it has been mostly derived from observing them in captivity.
Though it is called clouded leopard, it is not a ‘type’ of leopard. They belong to the Pantherinae - a subfamily of the Felidae family that also includes lions, tigers, jaguars, leopards and snow leopards. READ MORE
